The ever popular The Bobby Bones Show on Austin’s 96.7 KISS FM is switching stations and switching formats. Sadly, it’s also switching to a new base. Later this week, Bobby, Lunch Box, Amy, Alayna and Ray are all hoofing it up to Nashville to settle in at WSIX, AKA The BIG 98.
First things first. My pal Lauren Petrowski was at this big announcement and she tells me Carlos will continue to produce from Austin. According to the press release, the show will migrate to Austin’s KASE in the mornings, while KASE’s current morning show of Bama, Rob & Heather move to KVET. As for the bromance, I have no insider info but I believe it is strong enough to span the distance.
As I review Bobby’s Twitter feed, I see there must be some discontent from viewers. I’m sure you can figure out what he’s responding to here:
How can I be a “sell out” now. I was already doing Top 40. I was told I was already a “sell out” b/c of that!

I, however, couldn’t be happier for the gang. When I messaged Bobby a note of congrats, I asked him: other than the people, what’s one thing you will really miss about Austin? He responded, “Austin is home. I’ll miss about Austin what people miss about their home. How comfortable it is. All my friends. The weather. It was the hardest part of this decision.”
In addition to airing on WSIX and KASE, The Bobby Bones Show will also air on WSIX’s SIRIUSXM channel 57 as well as affiliates KSD/ST. Louis, KTGX/Tulsa, WCKT/FT. Myers, KYKR/Beaumont, WTXT/Tuscaloosa and WOBB/Albany, GA with more to come.
The daily show begins February 18th while Bobby’s national weekend countdown show, Country Top 30 with Bobby Bones, will premiere the weekend of March 2nd and 3rd.
